Quartermaster and Hon Lieutenant Wolley Jolland Field

 

 

Wolley Jolland Field was born in Caistor, Lincolnshire, in 1865, son of Wolley Jolland Field and Georgina Field (nee Gooseman). In the 1890s or early 1900s he moved to Ireland with his family – the 1901 Census shows him living at Bray, Co. Wicklow, and working as a commercial traveller.

He became quartermaster to the North of Ireland Imperial Yeomanry and honorary lieutenant on 17 July 1903, remaining in that position when the regiment became the North Irish Horse in July 1908.

He left his position with the North Irish Horse at the end of 1908.

Field died on 21 March 1948 at Bromley, Kent.
